This page explains the Accept step in WhatsApp, and what happens to your phone number. It is plain language, not legal advice. The full collection list is in the privacy notice.

Accept in WhatsApp

Before match suggestions continue, the chat asks you to accept the terms and the privacy notice. The buttons are Accept and Not now. The message links to:

If you tap Accept, we store a flag on your WhatsApp session that you accepted both. We do not start an email list, and we do not switch on a separate marketing subscription. Cookies are described on the cookies page.

If you tap Not now, we do not treat you as having accepted.

Your phone number

Other players on a match receive a WhatsApp card with your display name and level. When that match's club asks about membership, the card also shows member or guest. That card does not include your phone number.

We do not ask you to share your number with the other players, and we do not send it to them as a contact. If that ever changes, this page will change first, and we will ask you in WhatsApp before a number is sent.

The public calendar shows the club, the time, how full the game is, and levels. It does not show player names unless you are signed in and in that match. When that game's club asks about membership, players in the match also see member or guest. The data behind that page uses an id for each player and each match so the page can tell them apart. That id is not your phone number. A booking record uses the same kind of id for the person asked to add the court link. Your phone number stays on the account. That is described in the privacy notice.

How to withdraw

You can stop replying. To delete what we have stored, choose Delete account in WhatsApp and then Yes, delete. You can also message +64 21 128 1431 and ask. Blocking the number in WhatsApp stops messages on your phone. Blocking does not by itself delete the profile. Use Delete account for that.

You can start again later by messaging Match Maker.
